To everyone, thanks for your congratulations!!

Jon, did I read that right? 150 miles? That's awesome. I'm thinking I'd love to get a bike and start cycling for a change of pace... I was awful envious of bikers as they'd pass me while I was training.

Heidi, I have no plans to do another one anytime soon. (I'll be good if I just get out and run AT ALL in the next few weeks. It's getting colder, and now that the big day is past, I haven't been getting out to run.) It does indeed take a lot of time, as Katie mentioned.

Katie, Congrats to you as well. It is a huge accomplishment. And to hear that your mom has taken up running just reinforces the point that anyone can do something new if they put their mind to it. Our family is going to do a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot (fun run/walk for 1 mile)- which is what I hope to keep doing for my kids: setting an example and exercising with them. It's like I was on the Biggest Loser or something and came home and decided the whole family needed to change. Just joking. But yeah, I think that'll be a fun thing to do before we hit the table for a massive meal. I think I'll continue on with 5 & 10 ks at this point.

Congratulations! I just ran my first marathon on October 19. I loved it and definitely plan to run another one. But I'll probably try to limit the marathons to once a year. It is a lot of training. I'm also planning to run a 5K early on Thanksgiving morning with my mom! If you can believe it she just decided to take up running this year and this will be her very first 5K!
