Amelia, I always love your posts; they're so helpful and informative! We'd love to have a third, hopefully in the near future. I used to think three would be enough. Now, I kinda feel, well, just take one at a time, and we'll see. Who knows, maybe I'll end up with five kids total instead of my original three! ;-)

This is a great site, thank you. I really enjoyed reading your post. I have three boys - aged 2, 3 and 4. They were born June '05, July '06 and Aug '07. We had three in diapers at one point!

We planned to have the children close. We planned for it, because we didnt know it was going to be challenging. :-)

But all the challenges three little boys bring is worth it. They make me laugh all the time, and they are great friends. To anyone thinking about the third -- go for it. Sure, there are things to think about like travel, education, $$$ - but they all tend to work out.

I wanted a third because I was hoping for a girl but it didn't happen. As you know, we want a 4th but I am content with the fact that I could end up with 4 boys. Still hopefull that a girl may join our family--but I'm not putting any stock that it WILL happen.

I desperately want a little girl. But in doing so, she would be #3. And we never thought we would have more than 2. So, I always love to hear other people's thoughts about this subject as we try to make up our minds.
Thanks for sharing!

This is so great, Amelia. I love reading these articles from someone who is ahead of me on the parenting road.

I struggle often about our third. Sometimes the Pros of already having 1 boy and 1 girl are very tempting - traveling, space, money, etc. But I feel in my heart we will have a third. We have both always wanted a 3rd child. We have the space and can deal with the travel expenses, because we want to travel a lot. My problem is that I am with Jon on the "let's just do it and get it over with." I hate being pregnant. I just want to have my 3rd baby, be done with that phase of my life and move on. I need to be patient. It would be great if my 1st is potty trained before we get pregnant with baby #3. I would also like to save for a bigger car. We would also like to hire a nanny. My husband had a very difficult time managing the house, annabelle, his business, cleaning throw up, making meals, while I was sick. I am pretty much out of commission for 3 or 4 months.

So I need to be patient and it won't be so difficult with our 3rd. Thankfully, I have until Roman is a year and after our big trip in April before we think about the timing of our 3rd. But I still think about it often.

Wow. I just said a lot. I am going to share your article with Daniel too. :) Thanks for writing it!
